A bus caught fire at one of the stops in Łódź. After the passengers had gone outside, the driver noticed what he thought was steam coming from the engine compartment. But it was smoke. Moments later, the bus was almost completely burnt down. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The fire broke out at the bus stop at Plac Sałacińskiego in Łódź. The bus caught fire. Firefighters received a report on Saturday (February 4) before 10.
– It was a bus belonging to a private company that provides transport services on the route from Zgierz to Łódź – says junior captain Tomasz Frontczak, operational officer from the Municipal Fire Brigade Headquarters in Łódź.
As he opened the engine hood, fire burst out
He adds that when the driver stopped at the bus stop and all the passengers went outside, he noticed something going on in the back of the vehicle.
He thought they were a couple. He came to see, and when he opened the engine hatch, fire burst out – explains the fireman.
Six fire engines were sent to the spot
