Maciej Ślesicki has achieved many successes. The director and screenwriter was responsible for such hits as “13th precinct“, “Szpilki on Giewont” or “Dad”. His famous film “Sara” cannot also be omitted. Many years ago, a controversial production shocked viewers. The format featured Agnieszka Włodarczyk and Bogusław Lindaand the film's plot was about their romance. There would be nothing strange about it, if not for the fact that the actress was 16 years old at the time, and there was a very large age difference between her and Linda. What's more, Włodarczyk took part in nude scenes. How does Maciej Ślesicki currently view the love story from 1997?
Maciej Ślesicki about the film “Sara”. Agnieszka Włodarczyk was 16 years old then and performed without clothes
Maciej Ślesicki admitted in an interview with “Super Express” that he is glad that the success of “Sara” has continued over the years. The director also commented on the controversy and the fact that 16-year-old Włodarczyk took part in very bold scenes. What does Ślesicki think about it today? – Agnieszka Włodarczyk was, of course, 16 years old then, of course she was naked, but I think it didn't harm her in the end. In fact, I will say that I really respect what she has achieved – confessed Ślesicki in an interview with “Super Express”.
Maciej Ślesicki and political correctness. He doesn't plan on apologizing
Maciej Ślesicki spoke without hesitation about the issue of “Sara” today. He emphasized that in this respect it used to be “better” because more people had a distance from certain situations. He added that “Sara” cannot be taken completely seriously. – “Sara” is, in general, a film that we returned to in the times of so-called “political correctness”. (…). And the fact that people are talking nonsense about it doesn't bother me at all, because this film once started a fashion for Polish cinema. (…) I can't comprehend that anyone could take this film with deadly seriousness. Because this movie consists of all kinds of pastiches and clichés, and it was pure fun – said Ślesicki.
He also decided to dispel doubts about Agnieszka Włodarczyk's decision regarding nudity in some scenes. He explained what the conversation on this topic was like. – I didn't force Agnieszka to act in anything. Before we started making this film, they drew everything, did we know what would happen, how it would happen, who would be naked, when, who would not be naked – he said. Maciej Ślesicki added at the very end that he “absolutely will not apologize for this film.”
