16-day weather: an unusual start to September ahead. Long-term forecast for late August and early September

Further waves of hot air are on their way to Poland, and the slightly cooler air that will flow into our country at the beginning of the week will be only a short and small break in the entire series of very warm days.

The exceptionally warm end of August and the same start of September – the average daily temperature in Poland will be even 6-7 degrees higher than average – will be caused by hot air masses. They will flow almost continuously from Africa and penetrate Europe to the center of the continent, sometimes even reaching the Scandinavian Peninsula. At the same time, rarely, as on this Monday, will the cooler air from the north only temporarily visit the central part of Europe (see map).

At the beginning of the week, everyone, except for residents of south-eastern Poland, where it will be 30 degrees, will feel a slight drop in temperature and it will usually be slightly above 20 degrees.

Later, however, hot air will start flowing into the whole country again and until September 4, the temperature, especially in the south and east, will reach or exceed 30 degrees, sometimes reaching even 33 degrees. At that time, the lower temperature, although still high for the turn of August and September, will be at the seaside – there we can expect from 23 to 27 degrees. In the following days, from September 5, there will be a systematic cooling and the temperature will drop to 17 degrees in the north and 22 in the south of the country.
