A 28-year-old man died on Orla Perć as a result of a fall from a great height – the Tatra Volunteer Search and Rescue Service reported on Saturday. Since Friday, rescuers have intervened 27 times.
As reported by TOPR on duty, the tragic accident occurred on Friday. The 28-year-old fell from Pośredni Granat in the Orla Perć area towards Dolinka Buczynowa.
On Friday and Saturday, TOPR rescued a total of 27 people. Most of the interventions concerned illnesses, dehydration and limb injuries. In several cases, tourists overestimated their capabilities and required evacuation.
Currently, there is a lot of tourist traffic in the Tatras. According to information from the Tatra National Park, in places equipped with chains, there are traffic jams, which extends the duration of trips. The trails are wet and slippery in places, and there is mud in the forest parts.
