So far, the Social Insurance Institution has paid out a billion zlotys for a school starter kit as part of the Good Start programme. Payments of PLN 300 have so far been received by 3.3 million children. Further transfers are being prepared, ZUS announced on Monday. The application deadline is November 30.
Applications for the Good Start benefit can be submitted from July 1.
Millions of requests
– Over the past few weeks, 2.6 million applications for school supplies have been received, covering 3.7 million children. Let me remind you that there can be more than one child on one application. So far ZUS paid out a total of PLN 1 billion for 3.3 million children. Further payments are being prepared on an ongoing basis – informed PAP Grzegorz Dyjak from the ZUS Headquarters.
He reminded that funds from the Dobry Start program are available to all students aged 7 to 20, and in the case of children with certified disabilities, up to 24 years of age.
The support is independent of the parents’ income. 300 plus however, it does not cover children attending nurseries, kindergartens and kindergartens, as well as students, even if they fall within the age range entitling to the benefit.
How to get funds?
In order to receive funds from the Good Start program, the child’s parents or guardians must submit an application to the Social Insurance Institution. They can do it in several ways, but the documents must be submitted only electronically via the mZUS mobile application, ZUS Electronic Services Platform (PUE), Emp@tia portal and electronic banking.
People who submit an application by the end of August will receive a transfer of PLN 300 no later than September 30. If the application is submitted in subsequent months, i.e. in September, October or November, the payment will be made within two months.
The application deadline is November 30.
