The first PLN 60 million was transferred to parents’ accounts under the Dobry Start programme. The benefit is paid only to the account, informed the president of the Social Insurance Institution, Professor Gertruda Uścińska. The next payment of funds is scheduled for Monday.

From July 1, you can apply for the Good Start benefit. This is PLN 300 for a school starter kit for each child. Documents can only be submitted electronically.

ZUS has already started disbursement of funds from the Good Start program. More parents will receive support next week. The benefit will be paid only to a payment account, said the head of ZUS.

The support is granted once a year

Prof. Gertruda Uścińska stressed that as part of the program, parents – regardless of their income – can receive a one-time payment of PLN 300 for the purchase of e.g. school supplies and all equipment necessary for learning in primary schools, high schools, post-secondary schools and other educational institutions. The support is granted once a year – for a child who attends school, until they turn 20 or 24 in the case of children with disabilities. Applications for the new benefit period will be available from 1 July to 30 November 2023. Submission of the application by the end of August guarantees payment of the benefit by September 30.

The Good Start program

An application for a benefit under the Dobry Start program can only be submitted electronically – via the Electronic Services Platform (PUE) of ZUS, electronic banking or the Emp@tia portal and the mZUS application. At PUE ZUS, a special creator of applications for Good Start benefits will guide the user through the entire process step by step. This way you can avoid mistakes when applying for the benefit. The application – apart from other data – should include: bank account number to which the benefit will be transferred, e-mail address and telephone number – i.e. data that will be needed to contact you regarding the application. Also notices about benefits 300 plus will be provided electronically. Information about the granting of the benefit will be available in the inbox on the PUE ZUS profile. Also when the application was submitted via electronic banking or the Emp@tia portal. PUE ZUS will also contain all correspondence from ZUS regarding the application for a benefit (request to complete the application or attachments, information on granting the benefit, decision refusing to grant the benefit).
