68 percent of young women do not plan to have children, according to a study conducted by CBOS. – There are a number of reasons for this. First of all, I would give a red card, a warning, to the government – ​​said Krystyna Kacpura, president of the Federation for Women and Family Planning, on TVN24. The Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg, blamed the previous government for this state of affairs and argued that the current government is pursuing a pro-demographic policy.

According to CBOS research conducted in the second half of 2022 in which reproductive plans were asked32 percent of women aged 18-45 plan to have children in the near or long term, and 68 percent have no such plans.

Kacpura: a warning to those in power

She argued that “the situation on the labor market is not very stable, there are no facilities for mothers raising children, there are no facilities for single mothers”. – It’s about the lack of stability and professional security – explained Kacpura.

She added that “among women, especially younger women, there is a growing fear for their health and that of their children and for appropriate medical care.” – Unfortunately, after tightening the law, after excluding legal abortion for embryopathological reasons, women have the right to be afraid. It is a perfectly rational fear, especially after deaths, she pointed out.

Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy, commented on the results of the study in an interview with PAP. She blamed the PO-PSL government for the “demographic catastrophe”, which, in her opinion, “women from the baby boomers of the 70s and 80s did not receive support when they were at the age when they could become mothers.” She argued that the government PIS introduced many programs that are supposed to work pro-demographically.
