In his report, Gołębiowski indicated that the final meeting of the PiS leadership on this matter may take place on Thursday.

“Choosing between two candidates”

On Wednesday, in an interview with a Polsat News reporter, the vice-chairman of the Law and Justice club commented on this matter Ryszard Terlecki.

– At the moment, one could say, the choice or competition is being decided between two candidates, i.e. Przemysław Czarnek and Karol Nawrocki – he said. – But there are always surprises in such circumstances, so a surprise may happen here too. Although it will probably be one of these two – he added.

When will PiS announce its candidate? Terlecki: I think on Saturday

On the same day, in an interview with TVN24 reporter Agata, Adamek Terlecki was asked when the official announcement of the candidate would take place. How Jarosław Kaczynski suggested, this would happen before the Civic Coalition announces its nomination, i.e. before Saturday.

– I think we will wait until Saturday and we will do it on Saturday, but it is not decided yet. There will be a management meeting and it will finally decide whether it will actually be Saturday, said the club's vice-chairman. He also said that the announcement would take place “traditionally in Krakow.”

When asked what the internal parties look like pollssaid that “they come out in such a way that it is not easy to make a decision based on them.”

– These are decisions that result primarily from the beliefs of the people who make these decisions, rather than from polls. But surveys are also useful, he said. He also confirmed that the probe concerns three names – Czarnek, Nawrocki and Bocheński.

When asked which of them was closest to his heart, he said that “cold calculation should prevail over emotions.”

Czarnek: regardless of who the candidate is, I will travel around Poland until May

The Pomeranian Congress of National Remembrance organized by the Institute of National Remembrance began on Wednesday in Gdańsk. On this day, among others, discussion panel “Achievements and prospects of contemporary historical education”, in which Nawrocki and Czarnek took part.

After the debate, journalists asked the former head of MEiN about Terlecki's words that the choice was between two candidates.

Czarnek emphasized that he was the president of PiS Jarosław Kaczyński together with the presidium of the party's Political Committee, they will determine who has the best chance of winning next year's presidential elections.

– I guarantee that no matter who the candidate is, whether it will be Karol Nawrocki, whether it will be Tobiasz Bocheński, or anyone else, maybe Dominik Tarczyński, I will travel around Poland until May next year and you will see a great victory of the Law candidate and Justice in the May elections – Czarnek said.

Nawrocki did not want to comment on Terlecki's words. He said he was “not a political commentator.” – If the marshal said so, it means he had such information. I focus on my work and do not follow political comments – added the president of the Institute of National Remembrance.

Earlier, during the panel discussion, Nawrocki praised the president Lech Kaczyńskiwho – in his opinion – “was a master of memory politics and historical politics.” – He actually started this whole process as the President of the Republic of Poland, but he was also a master of combining historical sensitivity, the past, historical awareness with responsibility for the future of Poland and for the future of subsequent generations, for the Republic of Poland, which is exactly what this Congress is, in an ideological sense, an extension of – he said.
