A man was hit by a car in Jarosław, Podkarpacie. The pedestrian was completely drunk at the time of the incident. He was lying on the road because he was doing push-ups.
According to the Jarosław police in a statement, the incident took place on Sunday around 6 p.m. The officers received a report that a pedestrian was walking in the middle of the road, stopping every now and then in front of moving cars and doing push-ups.
The man's behavior was dangerous not only for himself. Drivers trying to avoid a pedestrian could skid or run into the opposite lane, leading to a head-on collision with another vehicle.

A police patrol went to the site.
“The officers found a man lying on the road who stated that he had been hit by a car. A 62-year-old driver of a Fiat was also present at the scene of the incident, who, as he said, did not notice the man lying on the road and ran over him,” said Asp. pcs. Anna Długosz, press officer of the Jarosław police.
The police provided the pedestrian with first aid and notified rescuers. A 43-year-old resident of Jarosław was tested for alcohol content. It turned out that he had almost three permille. The 62-year-old driver was sober.
“The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, and after being treated, he was taken to a sobering-up station. The police are explaining the exact circumstances of this incident,” Długosz said.
