A 36-year-old woman who was carrying her six-year-old daughter in a car in Rzeszów (Podkarpackie Voivodeship) had almost four per mille of alcohol in her body. The woman explained to the police that they were going to the mall for shopping.

The incident took place on Thursday (March 21). The officer on duty at the municipal police headquarters in Rzeszów received information from the dispatcher of the emergency number 112 that a drunk driver was most likely driving on Rzecha Street. This person – as the witness reported – was driving a Ford Fiesta across the entire width of the road.

The officers who went to the indicated place on the neighboring street noticed the indicated car and stopped it for inspection. According to the police, the driver of the Ford was a 36-year-old resident of the Leżajsk district, who was carrying her six-year-old daughter in the car.

“The driver clearly smelled of alcohol. The police checked her sobriety. The device showed almost four per mille of alcohol in her body. The woman explained that she was going shopping with her daughter to a shopping mall,” the police said.

She faces up to three years in prison

The officers called the child's father to the scene and handed over the girl and the keys to the vehicle.

The 36-year-old has already lost her driving license. Driving under the influence of alcohol is punishable by up to three years in prison and a heavy fine.
