On Monday, farmers protesting against the government’s policy marked their presence in Szczecin. First, they blocked the road next to their so-called green town, and then other city streets passing through them with tractors. The inhabitants of the city responded to this mainly with understanding.
from 11 near the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Szczecin, where protesting farmers organized their green town, there was a loud noise. Those who manifested dissatisfaction with the government’s policy spoke, discussed with the inhabitants of the city, persuaded them to their point of view and distributed fresh vegetables again.
After that, about 50 tractors and farmers’ cars drove through the city in protest. On the way, a petition was left at the National Support Center for Agriculture in Szczecin.
Solidarity with the inhabitants
– We are here because we want everyone to be fine, not just farmers, to at least be as before. We have rural products that we give away. Some residents are with us, some do not understand – one of the farmers from the municipality of Recz told us.
– If you do not help, no one will help us – Stanisław Barna, the head of the protest committee, addressed the residents. “We’ll stay here until someone calls us.” We demand Morawiecki, Kaczyński here – he spoke.
Voices of understanding prevailed among the inhabitants of the city with whom our reporters spoke. – Everythink is expensive. Inflationwhat we feel is not 20 percent but 100 percent. Therefore, let us respect Polish farmers and support them, says Lucyna Rennert, an accountant from Szczecin.
The protest of farmers in the capital of Western Pomerania has been going on since Thursday. They oppose, inter alia, the mass introduction of cereals into the Polish market Ukraine.
They also demand cheaper fuel, a “protective shield” for the time of military operations in Ukraine or changes in the tax system. They also protest against the way of land lease, which in their opinion favors foreign tenants.
The protest is initially announced for 30 days, but it may be extended if farmers do not wait for the government’s response. Rides through the city are to take place cyclically about twice a week.
