New Year's Eve in the Beskids is very popular. Although welcoming the New Year will be quite expensive, – as Karolina Fuchs from the town hall in Wisła said – almost 90 percent of the places have already been booked. The cost of a three-day stay in a hotel in the mountains can exceed PLN 5,000.
– Nearly 90 percent of places for New Year's Eve are already taken. There are still single accommodation units left, both in guesthouses and large hotels. There are a few vacancies left in these largest facilities, said Karolina Fuchs, head of the promotion, tourism and culture department of the Wisła city hall.
How much does a New Year's Eve stay in the mountains cost?
The cost of spending three days in the mountains in higher-class hotels and taking part in the New Year's Eve balls organized there should be prepared for several thousand zlotys. You can still find such offers, starting from PLN 2.5 thousand. PLN up to PLN 5.2 thousand zloty.
For “latecomers” with less money, there are last places available in various towns. In Brenna, renting a double room for one night costs PLN 250-550. It is more expensive in Szczyrk.
New Year on the slope
The ski season has started. The conditions are finally favorable. There are ski lifts in Szczyrk, Biały Krzyż, Istebna, Korbielów and Wisła.
Many ski resorts organize to welcome the New Year on the slopes. This will be the case, among others, at Złoty Groń in Istebna and Szczyrk Mountaiun Resort, where night skiing will last until 1 a.m. in the New Year.
Beskid resorts also prepare outdoor games. In Wisła on pl. Hoffa, at 6 p.m. there will be a party for the youngest, and from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be a disco for adults. Szczyrk will have fun in the Skalite amphitheater.
