In Kazakhstan, 95 vehicles collided on the highway between Astana and Petropavlovsk. According to the authorities, over 20 people were injured, some of them had to be taken to hospital. The incident occurred during a snowstorm.

The accident, which involved 95 vehicles, occurred on the highway connecting the capital of the country – Astana – with the city of Petropavlovsk, in the area of ​​Zhanatalap. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 21 people needed medical assistance, 11 of them were hospitalized.
Removal of the effects of the accident lasted until late at night on Friday. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported on its Telegram channel that it assisted in rescue and evacuation operations, and a total of 152 people and 68 units of equipment were involved in the rescue operation.
Collision involving almost 100 vehicles
Videos of the collision show many vehicles stuck to each other. To enable emergency services to clear the area more easily, the services removed a metal partition dividing the roads. Authorities had to tow away some of the vehicles involved in the incident, but some drivers were able to drive away on their own.
Local media reported that authorities issued road warnings due to worsening weather conditions.
