A hybrid bus burned down in Krakow

Firefighters extinguished a bus fire that broke out on al. November 29 in Krakow. There were about 50 people in the vehicle, no one was injured.

The fire broke out on Monday afternoon near the Biskupa Prandota 02 stop. The fire spread to the engine compartment of the hybrid bus on line 139. Bartłomiej Rosiek, press officer of the Municipal Commander of the State Fire Service in Krakow, said that the fire had already been extinguished. The bus wreck is to be towed away soon.

There are difficulties

The recording published online shows that the bus burned completely and the thick smoke formed a huge column. The smoke is visible from a considerable distance, but – according to firefighters – it does not pose a threat to residents.

There were about 50 people on the bus. The passengers managed to exit the vehicle and no one was injured.

“Biskupa Prandoty 02 stop remains without service. Very serious traffic disruptions,” the Municipal Transport Company in Krakow informs on social media. Krakow MPK informed that buses are being directed to detour routes through ul. Młyńska, Pilotów, Lubomirskiego and the tunnel of St. Rafał Kalinowski.
