Today we have the police who are chasing the patient for the pill the day after, and the same police cannot find the guests who brought thousands of barrels of poisonous substances to Poland, said MEP Bartosz Arłukowicz (PO) in “Fakty po Faktach”. He warned against the long-term consequences of the fire at the hazardous waste landfill in Zielona Góra. – All this has flowed from the barrels into the ground, all this is spilling over the ground, the groundwater will be poisoned – he said. – The rule of PiS killed the nature of Lubuskie and Lubuskie as a tourist destination – declared the politician.

Firefighters have been fighting since Saturday fire in the hall in Przylep, where dangerous substances are storede. The events from Zielona Góra were commented on Sunday in “Fakty po Faktach” by the MEP (AFTER) and former Minister of Health Bartosz Arłukowicz.

– If only 750 such fires, threatening people’s health and life, broke out in Poland in the last two or three years, it must evoke emotions. If we have information that Poland is becoming Europe’s garbage dump, because the import of waste to Poland increases from 150,000 tons to nearly 450,000 tons (annually), which gives a total of two million tons in recent years, then it must arouse great emotions – said Arłukowicz. – And finally, when you don’t see the reaction of the government who should help people, and they try to obscure the results of the air quality test in Zielona Góra or they themselves wear masks and say that there is no threat, it raises emotions – he added.

He noted that the Lubuskie Voivodeship is “particularly experienced”. – Governments PiS killed the nature of Lubuskie and Lubuskie as a tourist destination, declared the MEP.

He pointed out that the local government authorities of the Lubuskie Voivodship and Zielona Góra appealed to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management for help in the disposal of waste collected in the warehouse in Przylepa. – It probably wouldn’t arouse such emotions if it wasn’t for the fact that they received information from the Environmental Protection Fund: we don’t have the PLN 20 million for you, but the same fund gave Rydzyk PLN 40 million, the same fund financed the creation of Rydzyk’s winter gardens – said Arłukowicz. – People know it. People are firstly angry and secondly sad when they see the nature of the Lubuskie Voivodeship disappearing, he added.

“These people were left alone”

According to Arłukowicz, Poland has become Europe’s garbage dump, because there is a “silent consent” in the environment of people associated with PiS. – Today we have the police who are chasing the patient for the pill the day after, and the same police cannot find the guests who brought thousands of barrels of poisonous substances to Poland – noted Arłukowicz.

He warned against the long-term consequences of the fire at the chemical dump in Zielona Góra. – It all flowed from these barrels into the ground, it all spills over the ground, the groundwater will be poisoned – said the former health minister. In his opinion, this is a “mortal threat” to the local residents. – These people were left alone with this and the local government, which has to deal with all this – said the PO MEP.

Arłukowicz stated that he expected the Minister of Climate Anna of Moscow and the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawieckithat a government crew will appear in Przylepa, which will effectively protect people and provide the money necessary to dispose of this waste.

“Today the streets of Zielona Góra remain empty”

He emphasized that there are many more such ticking bombs in our country. – We have a landfill called Rogowiec, near Bełchatów, one of the largest in Poland. Tons of waste that can catch fire, just like in Zielona Góra. We can give more such examples. Someone allows it, someone turns a blind eye to it, someone earns money from it, said the opposition politician.

As he said, if Lubuskie Voivode Władysław Dajczak “showed extreme incompetence in the case of the tragedy on the Oder River, and now tries to cover up the problem of the great fire in Przylepa, people have the right to feel insecure.”

– Today, the streets of Zielona Góra remain empty because people do not know if they can go out. Today, after talking to a toxicologist and various experts, I am not willing to tell the people of Lubusz: go out safely on the streets, because we don’t really know it. This will become clear in a few weeks, he said.
