The new template of the draft card for convocation to military service in the event of mobilization and during war is already in force. The card contains, among other things, data on the date and place of the summoned person’s appearance and information on the consequences of failure to comply with the summons.
This concerns the regulation of the Minister of National Defense of December 7, 2023 on the template of the draft card for military service performed in the event of mobilization and during war, which entered into force on Saturday, January 13 this year.
New draft of the military conscription card
“The regulation specifies a template of the draft card for military service performed in the event of mobilization and during war, which is set out in the annex to the regulation,” we read in the regulation published in the Journal of Laws.
The appointment card template consists of two parts: for the person being appointed and for the head of the military recruitment center. It contains data on the date and place of the summoned person’s appearance and instructions on the consequences of failure to comply with the summons, as well as information useful for the summoned person and a note on the delivery of the summons.
In the part called “Instructions”, it is written, among other things, that the term “IMMEDIATELY” means that the appointed person should report to the place of appearance specified in this card no later than within six hours of receiving information about the announcement of general mobilization or the outbreak of war.
Mobilization for the army
“The deadline for appearance specified, e.g. on the second day of mobilization, at 12:00 means that the appointed person is obliged to appear on the indicated next day of mobilization, calculated independently in relation to the first day of mobilization specified in the upper right corner of the first page of the appointment card,” we read.
Moreover, a person who “during mobilization or war, being called up for active military service, does not report for this service on the specified date and place, shall be subject to the penalty of imprisonment for a period of not less than 3 years.”
“Whoever, during mobilization or war in order to permanently avoid the obligation to perform military service, being called up for active military service, does not report for this service on a specified date and place, shall be subject to the penalty of imprisonment for a period of not less than 5 years,” it was written. .
As added, in the event of inability to appear at the time and place specified in the appointment card, “the conscripted person is obliged to notify the commander of the military unit in which he is obliged to appear about the reasons for the inability to appear and to appear at the designated place immediately after the reason preventing him from appearing ceases. within the time specified in the appointment card.
This regulation was preceded by the regulation of the Minister of National Defense of September 28, 2015 on specifying templates of appointment cards and their purpose, as well as templates of announcements, which expired on October 24, 2023 in accordance with the Act of March 11, 2022 on defense homeland.
