What's going on? On Tuesday evening (November 26), the supervisory board dismissed Michał Fijoł as president Polish Airlines FLIGHT. The official reason was the results of an audit carried out in the company. However, a few days passed and the decision was revoked. On Friday (November 29), the media unofficially reported that Michał Fijoł is to be reinstated. This may be indicated, among others, by: that the message about Michał Fijoł's dismissal disappeared from the LOT website.
A political matter? A moment before the president was dismissed government transferred supervision over PLL LOT and Polska Grupa Lotnicza from the Ministry of State Assets to the Ministry of Infrastructure. Therefore, the dismissal of the president caused great outrage. The Minister of State Assets, Jakub Jaworowski, negatively assessed the manner in which Michał Fijoł was dismissed. However, Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak said he did not want to comment on this decision. He emphasized that it was decided before the Ministry of Infrastructure took over LOT.
Confusion at LOT Polish Airlines: Earlier, the Ministry of Infrastructure informed that an extraordinary general meeting of PLL LOT was held, which decided to dismiss two members of the Management Board and two members of the Supervisory Board. The media describe that “the decision to reinstate Michał Fijoł was possible after the dismissal of the supervisory board and management board of Polska Grupa Lotnicza (PGL), which holds 30.7% of shares in Polish LOT Airlines (LOT PLL). This, in turn, would not be possible without the transfer of supervision over the company.
Putting out a fire? Money.pl has learned that since Thursday, talks have been held between the Ministry of State Assets and the Ministry of Infrastructure to resolve this situation. One option is to invalidate the previous resolution and leave Fijoł in his position for some time. It is possible that someone will resign for this confusion. Some politicians are demanding the dismissal of Deputy Minister of State Assets, Jacek Bartmiński.
