On Tuesday, around 3 p.m., the services received a report about a fire at a recreation center in Solina in Podkarpacie. We received the first information about the incident on… Contact 24.
As senior captain Marek Wdowin, press officer of the fire brigade in Lesko, told Kontakt 24 journalists, the fire broke out in a “multi-functional building”.
Snow slows down firefighters
– Three units of the state fire brigade and four units of the volunteer fire brigade from the Lesko district were dispatched to the site. Unfortunately, due to snowfall and the location of the center in a mountainous and forest area, only one troop reached the site at the moment – said the spokesman around 4 p.m.
– The owner of the center has already dispatched a crane to clear the snow from the road and pour out sand so that the remaining teams can reach the site. According to the information he provided us, there is a lot of smoke in the area. One of the center’s employees, who tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, could not get into the room because of the smoke. However, at the moment we have no information about any injuries in the incident – emphasized Wdowin.
The spokesman added that the on-site commander of the unit, who managed to reach the center, is collecting information about the situation. – We do not yet know how big it is and where exactly the source of the fire is – he added.
