Artur Szpilka lost to Artur Wrzosek in a flash in May at the KSW 94 gala. The fight lasted only 14 seconds and “Szpila” fell to the floor after a powerful knockout. The former boxer's current record in MMA is three wins and one loss, but in the next fight he may face a really demanding opponent.

Szpilka was challenged by Errol Zimmerman, an extremely experienced kickboxer who has fought 113 fights in this formula and won 83 of them. The Dutchman from Curacao has already fought twice for the KSW federation. First, he defeated Marcin Różalski in the K-1 formula with small gloves, and then, in MMA, he defeated Tomasz Sarara in April 2023.

Is this Artur Szpilka's next rival? Errol Zimmerman predicts victory

Zimmerman hasn't fought for KSW in over a year, but he clearly wants to get back in the cage. On the Spartan Fighting Podcast, he openly admitted that he already has his opponent in mind, and that he's the former heavyweight boxing world title contender.

– I think my next fight will be in KSW. I hope to face Szpilka. I asked for him last time. Before the fight with Arek Wrzosek I told him that Arek would knock him out. He replied that after winning he would beat me. I hope they will give me this fight – said the Dutchman during the conversation.

He also admitted that this time he would like to fully prepare for the fight and has already asked the KSW federation for a full training camp. – In the first fight, a fighter dropped out and I took his place. In the second fight, I had a lot on my mind, I lost my father. I was not in a good mental state. I want them to let me know three months in advance, so I could show not only heart, but also good preparation – adds the former kick-boxer.

It is not yet known whether such a fight will actually take place, but the public challenge certainly did not escape Artur Szpilka. We do know, however, that the former boxer has not been training in recent weeks because he was taking antibiotics after a stay in the hospital. He ended up there because of a Staphylococcus aureus infection.
