The weather in the Tatra Mountains has been demanding in recent days. Rescuers from the Tatra Volunteer Search and Rescue Service (TOPR) provided assistance to 16 tourists injured, among others, in Rysy. High in the mountains, the trails are icy and there is a thin layer of snow.
Two tourists who lost the trail on October 1 required evacuation from the Niżni Rysy massif. On October 3, the mountaineers twice saved the same tourists who, despite bad conditions and terrible weather, decided to conquer Rysy.

On Friday, rescuers carried an injured tourist down on a stretcher from the trail between Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy and Zmarzły Staw. Another tourist who suffered a leg injury was carried by rescuers from the Saddle Pass near Giewont.
Weather that's best not to ignore
Snow and rain are expected on the peaks of the Tatra Mountains this weekend. Moreover, the mountains are covered with thick fog, limiting visibility. The Tatra National Park (TPN) recommends refraining from trips to higher parts of the area. From an altitude of approximately 2 thousand m above sea level, there is a thin layer of snow on the trails. Icing may occur much lower.
Last week, the first autumn snow fell in the Kasprowy Wierch area. This is what it looked like in the photos:
