The Pole showed loyalty to a colleague from Turkey and decided to abandon his work in his former club. For now, it is not known what about the future of the former Polish representative, but in Germany they are not sure of his quick return to the bench.

In an interview with WP SportoweFakty Lukas Rauer from the portal “Ruhr24” spoke about Łukasz Piszczek. According to the journalist, even if a Pole remained in Dortmund after the release of Sahin, he would not be a temporary number one coach of the former club. There was also a reason for such agonizing.
– He still lacks experience to run the club at the highest level. There is a difference between work as a playing coach in the fourth Polish league and the role of the first club coach from the first league, who wants to fight for titles – said Rauer.
The journalist also added that Piszczek in the past did not show coaching ambitions, and his work so far was rather a nod to the places with which he is associated. Therefore, it is not sure if he will want to be a top coach. Perhaps he has already closed this chapter of his career.
– His coaching adventures in Goczałkowice and Borussia Dortmund were important to him in terms of him, so I am curious whether he decides to continue his coaching career, and if so – when it happens – adds Germany.
This does not mean, however, that Rauer depreciates Piszczek and thinks that he is not suitable for work at the highest level. – I can imagine that many players would gladly listen to a former footballer like him. After all, for years he was one of the best side defenders in the world. However, this does not automatically mean that he will also be a good trainer. The key question is: can his understanding of the game be translated to the whole team or only to defense? If this is the second one, it may be better to prove himself again as an assistant to the trainer – the expert summed up.
