The two-hour concert by Adele, which was combined with the singer’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, gathered 10 million viewers on Sunday. This is a better result than the Oscars 2021 ceremony. An additional attraction, in which the singer was involved, was organizing a touching engagement.

Adele, one of the most popular British singers, recorded a special concert during which she performed four songs from the new album “30” and some of her greatest hits. The concert was combined with an interview that the British gave Oprah Winfrey. “Adele: One Night Only” – because that was the official name of the special program broadcast on CBS television on Sunday was watched by 10 million viewers. CNN reports that this is a slightly better result than the April Oscars, which was watched by 9.8 million viewers in the United States. CNN points out that Adele had to compete against the NFL’s Sunday Night Football – a match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders.

The concert part of the program was organized in front of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, and the audience included Lizzo, Mellisa McCarthy, James Corden and Seth Rogen, among others.

A touching engagement at the Adele concert

At one point, Adele asked the audience to be completely silent and turn off the lights. A man who was leading the woman by the hand entered the stage. They were Quentin Brunson and his longtime partner Ashleigh Mann. The woman was blindfolded and soundproofed headphones. As it turned out later, she had no idea that she was in the middle of an Adele concert and that the audience was filled with Hollywood stars. After Ashleigh accepted the proposal, Adele appeared behind her back. The woman was surprised. The singer showed them a place between Lizzo and tear-stained Mellisa McCarthy and sang a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” for them.

Adele released the single “Easy On Me” in October, the video for which was made by Xavier Dolan. During “Adele: One Night Only” she played three more songs from the album “30”: “Hold On”, “Love Is A Game” and “I Drink Wine”. The 33-year-old Briton’s fourth studio album will be released on Friday, November 19.
