A passenger train derailed on Wednesday near the town of Inty in northwestern Russia. 10 people were injured, the Russian state agency TASS reported. The services are explaining the causes of the incident.

According to Reuters, in the Komi region in the northwest Russia On Wednesday, a passenger train traveling from Vorkuta to Novorossiysk derailed. The derailment of the vehicle, which occurred near the town of Inty, involved 9 out of 14 wagons, adds the Russian state agency TASS.

Russian Railways reports that 232 passengers were traveling on the train. TASS writes about 10 people who were injured. The agency also informs that due to the poor condition of local roads, some paramedics had difficulty reaching the site.

The services are investigating the causes of the incident. The Interfax agency reports that, according to preliminary information, the derailment occurred during the train's emergency braking. The railways indicate damage to the railway embankments caused by heavy rains. Traffic on this section has been suspended.
