“A wave of cold and vagaries of weather is ahead of us”

A cold atmospheric front entered Poland from the west, being the forerunner of a great gulf of cold developed over northern and western Europe. “In the past, the word outpost was used to describe a squad of soldiers sent for intelligence purposes in front of the marching army. Synoptyk added that the front is associated with a low-lying Udo air vortex with the center located over southern Scandinavia. It draws cold air of Arctic origin from the north, over Greenland. It flows over the North Atlantic and loses some of its harshness. “However, it has the potential to noticeably lower the air temperature in the coming days, and to release showers of rain and snow from the swirling clouds. With night and morning clearings, it will lower the temperature at the ground below 0 degrees in places. There will be a few centimeters of snow in the mountains. Ahead of us a wave of cold and weather vagaries” – informed Unton-Pyziołek.

Tuesday morning is marked by clouds with clearing in the west and north-east. In the rest of the country, apart from clouds, there is a zone of rain front, which stretches from the Gulf of Gdańsk and Warmia, through Kujawy, Mazowsze, Łódź Land, Kielecczyzna, to Upper Silesia, Lesser Poland, Podkarpacie and Lubelszczyzna.

West and southwest winds are weak to moderate. In the west it can be windy at times. In the Sudetes, gusts will accelerate to 80 kilometers per hour.
