– The situation is very dangerous and every year we need to be more prepared for various types of crises – said Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the “#BezKitu” program on TVN24. – We will publish a manual on how to behave in crisis situations, including war situations – he announced.

Kosiniak-Kamysz was asked about the criticism from his predecessor as the head of the Ministry of National Defense, and currently the head of the PiS club. Mariusz Błaszczak regarding how the current government ensures the safety of its citizens. – Spending (on defense) will fall below four percent of GDP. In a situation where there is a war going on behind our eastern border, the processes initiated by PiS must be continued to deter the aggressor, to Polish army was strong for Poland to be safe, Błaszczak criticized.

Kosiniak-Kamysz believes that the former minister speaks of “frustration”. – He simply cannot bear the fact that he has not been the Minister of National Defense for a year, he misses this function every day. I can't fully understand it, because it is the will of the voters, no one else, he said.

– This year there will be very good budget execution, much better than our predecessors. For example, they had (in the last year – ed.) a 4.2 percent plan (in terms of defense spending – ed.), and they achieved 3.26 percent. We will spend 2.5 times more on armaments than in 2022, he continued.

He added that “one third of NATO countries do not spend 2 percent of GDP on armaments.” – If they do not do this, they cannot count – and President (elect) Trump says this directly – on action from the United States. Europe must spend much more on armaments, two percent is the absolute minimum, continued the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

Deputy Prime Minister: there will be a manual on behavior in crisis situations

Kosiniak-Kamysz assessed that “the situation is very dangerous and every year we need to be more prepared for various types of crises.” He said that in Sweden a manual was published for citizens on how to prepare for war. He added that his ministry, in cooperation with Ministry of Interior and Administration and minister Tomasz Siemoniakis intended with this in mind.

– We will publish a manual on how to behave in crisis situations (…). It will also be a manual so that everyone knows what to do in various types of crisis situations, including war and crisis situations related to military conflict, but also in situations that unfortunately occur every year: floods, flooding, hurricanes, leaving your home quickly if you need to evacuate – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on support for Hołownia: certain arrangements have been made a long time ago

The guest of the program also commented on the fact that on Saturday the General Council PSL will decide whether to support the candidacy Szymon Hołownia in the presidential elections.

– We have been talking about it for a long time, that we are planning an electoral cycle that ends with the presidential elections. This is why we sought the position of Speaker of the Sejm for Szymon Hołownia, so that his starting position (…) would be simply more independent. And this is also the effect of the entire agreement, thanks to which the Third Way was created, thanks to which we are in power today, because “either the Third Way or the third term of office of PiS.” This slogan won the last elections – said the deputy prime minister and president of PSL.

When asked whether Hołownia would have the support of his party, Kosiniak-Kamysz replied: – Of course, there is always a discussion, a debate is ahead of us. PSL is a very democratic formation, but we are going to the Supreme Council with certain arrangements that have been made a long time ago. And I am a supporter of keeping contracts.
