– It's unbelievable that this could be possible – he added. According to him, “the attorney general is outraged, moved and we will propose solutions in this regard.”

– It is indefensible if the state cannot cope with such a situation – said Siemoniak. He emphasized that “both the law and practice in this regard must change”.

“Everything has been rebuilt. It will be the same this time”

Siemoniak also spoke about how the state intends to help flood victims. “I was involved in the reconstruction after the flood in 2010,” he recalled. He added that “then Prime Minister Tusk decided: we are rebuilding everything one by one, we are helping everyone.” “Everything has been rebuilt. It will be the same this time,” he assured.

In his opinion, “we are wiser for those experiences”, and “the scale of involvement of the services, the army, (is) unprecedented”. – Operation “Phoenix” is for exactly this – to use the potential of the army. It was smaller then than it is now – he added.

According to him, “now is the most difficult (period), when the rescue operation has ended and the losses need to be estimated.” – Building inspectors need to come and assess whether the house should be demolished or rebuilt – said Siemoniak.

In response to the fact that people have lost or had to leave their homes and now need places to live, he assured that “we will find them these places”. According to him, it is possible to “use the huge tourist base that is in the area” of the flood-affected areas. – Of course, we also have containers. The Government Reserves Agency (Strategic) is ready with containers, but it is better to live in a hotel, a guesthouse during renovation than in a container – he assessed.

In his opinion, entrepreneurs will also “benefit from this”. When asked if the government will pay for it, he replied: – Of course, yes.
