Bodnar: As Poland, we have a lot to offer

In the afternoon, politicians spoke at a press conference. Bodnar said that the informal meeting of ministers was dominated by two main topics – increasing cooperation between states in combating organized drug crime and the issue of small-scale deprivation of liberty, i.e. small prisons.

He added that such a meeting is also “an opportunity for various bilateral meetings.” – Each such meeting is an opportunity to explain the situation in Poland and how we are coping with restoring the rule of law, but also an opportunity to establish basic relations and build future bilateral cooperation between individual countries on their basis. I think that we, as Poland, have a lot to offer, but we can also learn a lot from other countries, said the head of the Ministry of Justice.

“We told Europe one thing: we are back”

Deputy Minister Krzysztof Śmiszek said that “we care very much about cooperation with European institutions, but we also want to regain credibility in these bilateral contacts.”

– That’s why there were so many meetings, that’s why there were so many exchanges and so many conversations with Minister Bodnar’s colleagues, because all these ministers longed for contact with the Polish Minister of Justice – added Śmiszek. – We told Europe one thing: we have returned to Europe, we are talking to all those who create Europe and who care about the continuation of the European project – he emphasized.
