The former Ombudsman, Adam Bodnar, commented in TVN24’s “Fakty po Faktach” on the content of the e-mail from the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Michał Dworczyk, who was to consult the President of the Constitutional Tribunal, Julia Przyłębska, on the actions of the Constitutional Tribunal. – It turned out that a representative of the Council of Ministers of the rank of the head of the office negotiates with the president of the Constitutional Tribunal when sentences are to be issued or rather when they are to be delayed – said Bodnar. He added that the e-mail “shook” him.

According to the e-mail published last Monday, the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk was to consult the President of the Constitutional Tribunal, Julia Przyłębska, on the actions of the Tribunal. “Mateusz, today (shortly after your conversation) I visited Mrs. Julia P. I discussed 3 topics with the president” – Dworczyk was supposed to write to the prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki. “Three themes” were to concern judgments pending in the Constitutional Tribunal to be resolved.

Moreover, these are matters that concern very specific situations of the citizens of the Republic of Poland – he said.

– Specific problems, specific hundreds of thousands of people, translating into money, where the authorities negotiate with the constitutional court that these sentences are simply not to be issued because it will cause such and no other costs for the state budget – said Bodnar.
