Adele announces 'extremely long' break, voice breaks as she reveals reason

Adele gave a short statement during her concert in Munich on Saturday. The star thanked the audience for their presence and summed up her recent a series of performances in the capital of Bavaria. Referring to those 10 concerts, the singer said they were “spectacular” and “she will remember them forever.” She also confessed that the performance that ended them “was supposed to be her last” this year.

– I'm glad he's not. I still have 10 concerts after him, because before I felt bad and they were postponed. I still have exactly five weeks (of touring – ed.) and 10 shows to do as part of my residency (in Las Vegas – ed.), Adele said. – But after them I won't see you for an extremely long time, the star added.

Adele stressed that “throughout the long break” she will have fans “in her heart”, “miss them terribly” and “fantasise about the last concerts” and other performances she has given over the past few years. – (Touring) was fantastic, but I need to rest – added the star. Then, her voice breaking, she said that “for the last seven years I have been building a new life for myself and I would like to live it now”. – I want to live the life that I have created for myself – emphasised the artist.

CNN recalls that Adele “has had an eventful few years personally and professionally.” In 2019, Adele and Simon Konecki – with whom she has a son – they announced their separation. From 2021 it is in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul.

As CNN notes, the singer has previously withdrawn from public life for some time, in periods between the promotion of subsequent studio albums. She released her last one, titled “30”, in 2021. Adele released the album “25”, which was a spectacular success, six years earlier, in 2015. The artist also released new albums in 2011 and 2008. These were the albums “21” and “19”, respectively.

The last Adele concerts in Munich were her first performances in continental Europe since 2016. Initially, four were planned. However, due to the huge demand, this number was later increased to 10. The concerts attracted hundreds of thousands of people to the Bavarian capital. The audience could admire the star in an arena specially created for this open-air residency.

Adele has been performing in Las Vegas since 2022. The star is set to perform the last 10 concerts of her residency between October 25 and November 23 of this year. They were originally scheduled for March, but due to health conditionthe star had to postpone their date.
