At least 33 people died in flash floods that hit Afghanistan. Such phenomena can occur even a few minutes after the rainfall, and this is what happened in Kabul and in several provinces, said Abdullah Janan Saik, spokesman for the Ministry of Crisis Management, on Sunday. He added that over 600 houses were flooded, several hundred cattle were killed and over 85 kilometers of roads were damaged. The provinces of Farah, Herat, Zabul and Kandahar were most affected by the element. Meteorologists say heavy rain will continue to fall in many regions of Afghanistan in the coming days.

Neighboring Pakistan was hit by violent storms. The phenomena were accompanied by heavy rain, which turned the streets into raging torrents. Over the past two days, lightning strikes and floods have killed at least 29 people and injured seven, local authorities said.
