The Taliban is “cooperating” with British forces as they work to evacuate individuals from Afghanistan and isn’t behaving in a “medieval manner”, the chief of the UK defence workers has stated.

Common Sir Nick Carter informed Sky Information: “We’re cooperating with the Taliban on the bottom and that appears to be a really simple relationship.

“They’re retaining the streets of Kabul very protected and certainly very calm. They’re serving to us on the airport.”

He stated the militants are “retaining the streets calm, they’re avoiding public dysfunction” – and added: “What we’re not getting are stories of them behaving in a medieval manner such as you may need seen prior to now.”
