Intense rainfall passed through the Italian province of Pisa on the night from Friday to Saturday, leading to numerous floods and flooding. Several people were rescued from flooded cars.
The municipalities most affected by the downpours include Santa Luce, Terricciola, and also Riparbella, where more rain fell in three hours than on average for the entire month, local media reported.
15 people were rescued
Streams and canals overflowed, flooding roads and buildings. So much water accumulated on the streets that in some places it carried away cars. The services rescued 15 people stuck in flooded cars. Some of them were waiting for help on the roofs of cars.
The bridge in Sorbugnano was broken and there were landslides. Some roads were closed.
