As a result of the hacker attack, personal data was breached, including customers' personal data – wrote the Agata Meble chain in a statement.

We received a signal about the leak of data of customers and network employees earlier on Contact24. “Employees were told to register their PESEL number in the mObywatel application. What about customers?” – it was pointed out.

Agata SA confirmed in a statement published on its website that “as a result of the hacker attack disclosed on June 22, 2024, a personal data breach occurred.”

“The breach of personal data protection consisted of a temporary loss of access to them, a breach of their confidentiality, and perhaps (which is currently being verified by us) also their copying. The breach concerned personal data processed electronically by the company, in particular customer data: name and surname, address, contact details and information about placed orders and complaints,” it was reported.

As the network explained, “the login and password used for the customer's account were stored by us outside the infrastructure affected by the attack.”

“Financial data – regarding the method of payment, including account and card numbers – were not processed by us (payments were made by external operators), therefore they were also outside the infrastructure affected by the attack,” the statement said.

It was stated that “the data controller has no information whether an unauthorized person has copied customers' personal data, and also has no information whether these personal data have been made public or are used in a manner inconsistent with the law.”

“However, out of caution, we would like to inform you that the consequence of this breach may be receiving unwanted communication or an attempt to impersonate an employee of another institution in order to obtain other data, therefore, in order to minimize the danger, please be particularly careful when providing your personal data to other, unknown persons ( in particular during a telephone conversation or via e-mail) – the company appeals to customers.
