– I believe that the fourth installment of tax for Polish farmers should be written off because it is a difficult year – Michał Kołodziejczak said on Monday (5 August) on TVP Info, quoted by wnp.pl. Earlier, the Minister of Agriculture, Czesław Siekierski, withdrew the draft law on assistance for agricultural producers in paying part of the agricultural tax for 2024.

– There were doubts from Minister Siekierski, who spoke about the need to redirect these money for those who suffered due to extreme weather conditions. The policy of the ministry is outlined by Minister Siekierski. I express my opinion – sometimes it is the same, sometimes it is different from the opinion of Minister Siekierski – added the Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

However, Michał Kołodziejczak assured that he would “do everything” to make farmers pay tax in the same amount as in 2023. – I will put pressure on Minister Siekierski and the Minister of Finance to ensure that the agreements in Jasionka are kept – said the deputy minister.

Agricultural tax. The Minister of Agriculture has waived the reduction

The Minister of Agriculture, Czesław Siekierski, withdrew in a letter dated 24 July from further wash legislative draft act on assistance for agricultural producers in paying part of the tax. As he explained, it was withdrawn “due to the inability to indicate the source of financing for the assistance specified in the draft act”.

“At the current stage of the implementation of the state budget, I do not identify any savings within the earmarked reserves that could be allocated for the discussed purpose,” it was emphasized in the opinion on the project. The proposed regulations were to be a response to one of the demands of farmers who demanded a reduction of the agricultural tax for 2024 to last year's level.
