The bodies of four Russian tourists were found on Friday in a hotel sauna in the coastal town of Qerret in western Albania. Police said they had been strangled. However, she did not provide any more information, using the grounds of the ongoing investigation.
The people found dead in the hotel were between 31 and 60 years old. The police said in a press release that suffocation was the cause of their deaths.
Mysterious death of the Russians
Investigators reported that the Russians were part of a larger group that had been spending a week in a five-star hotel in a town located about 50 kilometers west of Tirana. The police suspect that the dead tourists may have belonged to one family – writes the AP agency.
A homicide investigation is underway. Police said that the entire staff of the hotel where Russian tourists were staying had been questioned.
