Tomasz Szmydt was a person who constantly had financial problems. He didn't pay alimony, what's more, he had problems with his weaknesses, so he had to seek treatment. And this person still held such a high position – said the chairman of the parliamentary committee for secret services, Marek Biernacki, in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego”.

In Wednesday's “Piasecki's Talk”, the chairman of the parliamentary committee for secret services, Marek Biernacki (PSL-TD), a member of the College for Secret Services, commented on the case of former judge Tomasz Szmydt, who fled to Belarus. – He has extensive knowledge because he was in an interesting situation, but this knowledge, after verification by the Internal Security Agency, is not so dangerous for us – he said.

– The second aspect or segment of his knowledge regarding the functioning of the Polish state is very important. And these are big losses that the Polish state has suffered. How he operated within the Ministry of Justice, various ways of influencing the destruction and lowering of the rule of law in Poland and taking Poland out of the European Union – he pointed out.

Asked whether he believed that Szmydt was already an agent of the eastern services, Biernacki replied in the negative. – Then it seems to me that he acted this way because his superiors told him so. He found his place, he said.

Biernacki pointed out that Szmydt “was a person who constantly had financial problems.” – And here it is also strange, because the verification of asset declarations did not pass the test – he said.

As he pointed out, the former judge did not pay alimony. – What's more, he had problems with his weaknesses, so he had to undergo treatment. And this person still held such a high position, he said.

When asked what weaknesses he had in mind, Biernacki replied: “Let's say alcohol.” – Women too. Alcohol and women – he said. He confirmed that this led Szmydt to financial problems.

To the comment that it was strange that no one was interested in it, the TVN24 guest replied that “in fact, he got a promotion.” – He was very well positioned in the judicial structure, and for the hate scandal alone, for insulting and taking out the dirtiest things from his fellow judges, he should not hold this position – added Biernacki.
