The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate announced the detection of Escherichia coli harmful to health bacteria in two parts of wheat flour. “The consumption of a contaminated product can pose a threat to human health” – was transmitted in a communiqué. Information on the withdrawal of the product was also published by the ALDI network.
“The Chief Sanitary Inspector has been informed about the detection of the presence of Escherichia coli producing Shiga (STEC) in wheat flour in ownership studies,” wrote in a communiqué.

“According to the risk assessment of the National Institute of Public Health PZH – the State Research Institute, the consumption of the product without proper thermal treatment may pose a threat to human health. The presence of STEC in food products may also cause cross -contamination of food pollution,” wrote GIS.

GIS reported that “a distributor in cooperation with the manufacturer immediately after receiving the results of the research implemented the product withdrawal procedure and informed the organs of the State Sanitary Inspection. ”
Information for customers was also published on the ALDI chain website.
“The amount due for the purchased goods will be returned to you, also in the absence of a receipt that is proof of purchase. The product can be returned until 03/03/2025 (inclusive) to Aldi stores” – explained the commercial network.

“Official food control bodies are conducting explanatory proceedings in the present case. Do not consume the product from the parties covered by the message” – the GIS was forwarded.
It was explained that STEC toxin infection, produced by the Escherichia coli bacterium, can lead to hemorrhagic colonitis or much less often bloodless diarrhea. In rare cases, a significant deterioration in the state of health manifested as a hemolytic and utility syndrome or even less often thrombophile thrombosis.
“In the event of disturbing symptoms after consuming the above -mentioned product, please contact your doctor,” the office appealed.
