Alliances at a crossroads, i.e. a week that shook Europe and Poland

“We can expect that every Russia, not only Putin's Russia, but even Russia less repressive and more open to the world, will strive to subordinate Ukraine,” comments Jacek Stawiski, summarizing the passing week in international policy. Therefore, according to the host of the programs “Horizon” and “Talks at the summit”, today is the most important of the formula of Ukrainian statehood.
A real avalanche of statements, comments and prophecies that has been translating through Europe in recent days applies than less than the basic questions related to the future of Ukraine, Europe and the American-European Alliance. This makes it very difficult today to capture the most important, long -term effects of the latest actions and announcements of the American administration. Despite this, I will try to indicate the most significant challenges that we can witness and which were launched through Announcement of resumption of US contacts with Russiafurther informing about the first – for now preliminary – American policy goals in Ukraine and finally signaling changes in the nature of the previous alliance of America and Europe.
