On Tuesday, the second tranche of the so-called fourteenth pensions will be paid out, worth a total of PLN 1.3 billion. The money will go to over 970 thousand pensioners – said the spokesman of the Social Insurance Institution, Paweł Żebrowski.
Fourteenth pension It is paid ex officio. This means that no applications need to be submitted. Those entitled will receive it together with their pension, disability pension or other long-term benefit. It will be transferred together with the benefit due for September – the spokesman emphasized Social Insurance Institution.
He recalled that the first tranche of the fourteenth pensions was paid on August 30 and the benefits were received by over 740 thousand pensioners and annuitants. – So far, they have been received by people receiving their basic benefits on September 1 and 6 – said Żebrowski.
He said that on Tuesday, the fourteenth pension will be paid to over 970,000 people, and the total amount of the payment will be over PLN 1.3 billion. Together with Tuesday's tranche, over PLN 4.1 billion will go to 2.8 million people.
Fourteenth pension – how much will retirees get?
This year The full amount of the “fourteenth pension” will be PLN 1,780.96 gross.which is the minimum pension. The full amount can be counted on by people whose basic benefit, e.g. retirement or disability pension, does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross.
For people with the main benefit between PLN 2,900 and PLN 4,630.96 gross, the “fourteenth” will be reduced according to the principle of zloty for zloty. For example, for a pension of PLN 3,500 gross, the “fourteenth” will be due in an amount lower by PLN 600, i.e. PLN 1,180.96 gross. However, the benefit will not be granted if the amount of the fourteenth pension is lower than PLN 50. This means that The so-called fourteenth pension will not be received by persons with a pension or disability pension higher than PLN 4,630.96 gross.
Who won't get the “fourteen”?
The “Fourteenth” will also not be received by people with a benefit whose payment will be suspended on the day the entitlement to this benefit is examined (August 31, 2024), e.g. due to exceeding the limits for earning extra money.
The fourteenth pension is free from deductions, e.g. bailiff's seizures. It is not included in income when applying for social assistance, alimony, or 500+ for dependents. Only the health insurance contribution and the advance payment on income tax will be collected from the benefit. A pensioner receiving the minimum benefit (PLN 1,780.96 gross) will receive a total of two payments in the amount of PLN 3,114.35 net.
The additional annual cash benefit for pensioners and annuitants has been permanently included in the beneficiaries' payment calendar since 2023. The payment month is determined each time Council of Ministers in a regulation issued no later than 31 October of a given year.
