An American military plane crashed on Friday over the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the command of American troops in Europe announced on Sunday. According to the US Department of Defense, five people died.
A statement on the accident was issued on Sunday by the US European Command (EUCOM). “On the evening of November 10, an American military plane conducting training operations in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea suffered an accident and crashed,” it was written.

“Out of respect for the families of the injured, we will not provide further information about the personnel involved in this situation at this time. The causes of the training incident are currently being investigated,” it added.
Five personnel died as a result of an accident that occurred during refueling, the US Department of Defense announced.
“However, it can be said with certainty that the aircraft flight was purely training in nature and no signs of hostile activity were detected. We will provide more information as the situation develops,” reads the EUCOM statement.
