Panama will allow American troops to be distributed in areas near the Panama Canal and in its vicinity – according to the agreement published on Thursday between the rule of both countries. The agreement, however, excludes the possibility of establishing military bases over Americans over the canal.
The government of Panama informed about the contract on Thursday.
“American and private military companies that have signed contracts with the United States can use authorized facilities and designated areas for training, humanitarian activities (…) and exercises” – it was written in agreement signed by the boss Pentagon Pete HegeSth and the Minister of Defense Panama Frank Abry.
The three -year, renewable agreement says that the facilities in which American soldiers will stay will be the property of the Panama state and will be intended for “joint use” by the armed forces of both countries.
