On Monday, February 17, in the Vail Pass pass in the Rocky Mountains (Summit's County, Colorado), an avalanche came down. It was caused by two men moving on the slopes with snowmobiles.

Ten rescuers were looking for a man buried under the snow. Rescue dogs participated in the action. The man was found thanks to the avalanche backpack, the fragment of which was visible on the surface.

According to the local media, the scooter driver spent over an hour under the snow. When he was dug out from the snow by the rescuers, he was conscious. The man was hospitalized, he had symptoms of early hypothermia.

In the state of Colorado, on average, six people die as a result of avalanches.
