Cruise missiles fly towards the west, then they can change their flight trajectory, flying along our border – said General Mieczysław Bieniek on TVN24. On Friday, the day when Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine, a spokesman for the Operational Command of the Armed Forces announced that “an unidentified object entered Polish airspace from Ukraine near Zamość.”
For massive attacks on Ukrainian cities, Russia launched Tu-95 strategic bombers, which fire Kh-22 and Kh-101 cruise missiles.
Bieniek explained that one of such missiles maneuvers at a low altitude to confuse air defenses, which are directed mainly to the north, south and east.
– These missiles fly towards the west, then they can change their flight trajectory, flying right along the border, i.e. along our border. From what we hear and see, this area is covered (…) by radar and air surveillance. This missile was detected, it probably entered the territory of Poland along the eastern wall, at the height of Tomaszewski County and Zamość, then after its detection, forces and resources were activated and F-16 planes were picked up – he added.
