Polish footballers changed clubs during the summer transfer window. Piotr Zieliński decided not to extend his contract with Napoli and chose Inter Milan, where he can count on a four-year contract and earnings of 4.5 million euros net per year. Wojciech Szczęsny terminated his contract with Juventus by mutual consent and is looking for a new employer who will no longer have to pay the transfer fee for him. Jan Łabędzki from ŁKS is to join Bologna, which means an increase in the Polish colony at this club. Currently, Łukasz Skorupski and Kacper Urbański are already there.

These are not necessarily the only moves involving Poles and Italian clubs. There is still a high probability that Nicola Zalewski may leave Roma, especially since he was booed by the fans in the last match against Empoli (1:2). Clubs such as Milan, Napoli and PSV Eindhoven were mentioned in his context. The Dutch champions even offered around nine million euros for him.

It looks like yet another Polish international could change clubs in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Walukiewicz to change club in last days of window? 6-7 million euros needed

The daily “Tuttosport” reports that in the last days of the transfer window Sebastian Walukiewicz may end up in another Italian club. Torino, which needs a right-footed central defender, is very interested in the Pole. In recent days, negotiations have begun between Torino and Empoli, and an offer of six to seven million euros may be enough for Walukiewicz. For now, talks between the two sides are not yet advanced.

During the summer transfer window, three central defenders left Torino. Alessandro Buongiorno went to Napoli, Ricardo Rodriguez chose Real Betis' offer, and the club did not extend Koffi Djidji's contract. A big supporter of Walukiewicz's talent is Davide Vagnati, Torino's technical director, who has wanted to sign the Pole for many months. “Now it's Walukiewicz's turn, who has jumped to the front of the queue in terms of interest and chances of achieving white smoke,” we read in an article in “Tuttosport”.

The aforementioned source claims that Torino was also interested in another defender. It concerns Carlos Cuesta from Genk, for whom the Belgian club wants at least 10 million euros. Torino's latest offer for the Colombian is 9 million euros plus bonuses. Earlier, Italian media reported that Torino was interested in Martin Vitik from Sparta Prague, who is valued at 15 million euros.

If Walukiewicz joins Torino, it will be his third Italian club in his career. He previously played for Cagliari Calcio (2019-2023), and since September 2022 he has been a player of Empoli – first as part of a loan, and then after a permanent transfer. Walukiewicz joined Cagliari in January 2019 for 3.5 million euros from Pogoń Szczecin. This season he played 90 minutes in matches against Monza (0:0) and Roma (2:1).
