Six people were injured as a result of a head-on collision of two passenger cars that took place on Saturday morning in Andrychów (Małopolskie Voivodeship) on the national road number 52, the Wadowice police reported. The road is blocked. Detours were organized.
The accident happened around 8.30 am on Saturday. Two cars collided head-on. Three occupants of each car were injured, police said. – Operations are underway on site. One of the injured was transported to the hospital on board the Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter, Wadowice police said.
The road is blocked, the police direct diversions
Jarosław Kowalczyk from the Road Information Point of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways reported that national road No. 52 in the area where the accident occurred was blocked. Traffic is diverted to local roads.
According to estimates GDDKiA Disruptions are expected to last until 10.30am.
National road no. 52 from the border with Czechs in Cieszyn to the junction in Głogoczów is one of the busiest routes in southern Poland. It runs, among others through Bielsko-Biała, Kęty, Andrychów, Wadowice and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.
