In Slovakia, Andrzej Duda talked to President Zuzana Czaputova about the crisis on the border. – We are ready to help, if necessary, our Lithuanian neighbors if this hybrid attack spreads to their border with Belarus – he assured. He also said that Poland had “sufficient forces and resources” to defend its border. He added that support on the political level is needed here.

President Andrzej Duda left on Tuesday for Slovakia, where he met with President Zuzana Czaputova.

After a face-to-face conversation, at a joint conference, Andrzej Duda spoke about the pressure on the Polish-Belarusian border and the related crisis.

– We will do everything possible to, on the one hand, defend the border of the European Union, defend the Polish border, thus ensure and maintain security, and, on the other hand, if only we have the opportunity to provide humanitarian aid to these people, he said. “We regret the situation,” he added.

Duda also stated that Poland is coping with the current situation on the border. – We have sufficient forces and resources to physically protect the border. However, we do need support at the political level, and we are very much counting on the support of our neighbors, our allies. We count enormously on the support of the European Union here, we count enormously on the support of NATO – he said. He thanked for all the words of support that have been given so far.

– We are ready to help, if necessary, our Lithuanian neighbors, should this hybrid attack spread to their border with Belarus. Unfortunately, there is such a probability, but I can assure you that we are able to pass on to our Lithuanian colleagues the help in the form of the infrastructure that we have nearby, said the president.

On that day, Duda is to meet the chairman of the National Council (parliament) of the Slovak Republic, Boris Kollar, and later with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Hegere.
