The president is trying to focus attention on himself, to appear in some way in the debate – this is what Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, said about Andrzej Duda's attitude towards the government in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. She was also asked whether the Left would field a woman as a candidate in next year's presidential elections. She also said when a decision on this matter would be made.

Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk spoke in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 about the government's relations with the president. She commented, among other things, on the president's activity in the sphere of international politics.

– I would like to remind you that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister of the government are responsible for foreign policy – said the minister.

– The president, who is in fact getting ready to leave his function because he is finishing his mission in the (Presidential – ed.) Palace, is trying to focus attention on himself, draw attention to himself, and somehow appear in the debate – she said.

– A serious head of state who is respected internationally, a head of state who knows that he is respected in his own country, does not have to demand attention, does not have to say: “Remember me, don't forget about me,” she added.

She also referred to invitation of President Andrzej Duda to Prime Minister Donald Tusk for a meeting. It was supposed to take place on Wednesday, but it did not take place because the head of government is ill. – I don't know why members of the Polish government would have to run at the president's every call in case of illness or some emergency situation – she said. – The Prime Minister is ill and could not accept the invitation. End of story – she concluded.

She also talked about “the image of the president who really wants to be known, who really wants to make an issue out of nothing.”

Dziemianowicz-Bąk: I believe that the Left's candidate for president should be a woman

Dziemianowicz-Bąk was also asked whether the Left would field a woman as a candidate in next year's presidential elections.

– I hope so, I think that we on the Left have very competent women, competent politicians, great candidates. I think it's time for a woman to run for the Presidential Palace, she replied.

She was also asked if she could see herself in this role. – We will make the decision about who this candidate will be and what her name will be together in the New Left after the elections to the European Parliament, after the end of this electoral cycle. I am convinced that whoever she is, whoever has the honor of representing the Left in the presidential race, she will be a competent, reliable, substantive and hard-working woman, added the minister.
