Andrew Grabowski has been a guest on Polish television screens for many years. Even before his iconic role as Ferdek in “The World According to the Kiepskis“, he appeared in “Boża podszewka” and “Pułkownik Kwiatkowski”. The role of the one for whom there is no work in the country made him forever etched in the memory of viewers. The actor was not convinced about the production at first, however, for over two decades he played the main character of the cult comedy series. How does he look back on the production after all these years? He mentioned those who have passed away.
Andrzej Grabowski remembers “Świat według Kiepskich”. He talks about those who are no longer with us
The actor appeared on the set of the iconic sitcom for over two decades. In an interview with Plejada, Grabowski emphasized that work was important to him. “It's hard not to recall 22 years. 22 years of work in this series – and I've been working for 50 years – almost half of my life as an actor is “Świat według Kiepskich”. During the production, I made a lot of films, played many roles in the theater, did many programs on stage, in cabaret” – he said in an interview. He also stressed that it was difficult for him to see subsequent actors leaving the production. On June 9 this year, Marzena Kipiel-Sztuka, the series' Halinka, passed away. From More than three years have passed since the death of Ryszard Kotys – the series' Paździoch. Soon it will be the fourth anniversary of the death of the series' Boczek, i.e. Dariusz Gnatowski.
But it's hard not to remember this series – after all, it was 22 years. And on top of that, when more and more actors who were very close to me are leaving. It's hard not to be emotional about the time
– Grabowski told the Pleiades.
Andrzej Grabowski recalls moments on the set. It was different
The actor also mentioned many moments on the set – there were both happy and sad moments that he remembered. It turns out that one of the moments that stuck in his memory was the death of a cameraman who was privately associated with Kipiel-Sztuka.
A very sad story was the death on the set of Marzena Kipiel-Sztuka's partner, cameraman Mariusz. There were also a few funny stories related to acting, when we couldn't act because we were boiling, that is, laughing. But it actually happened only twice in those 22 years, and it was a very serious recording of a very serious production. Maybe that's why it turned out the way it did, because we didn't laugh, because as the saying goes, laugh on the set, cry on the screen
– he revealed. In our gallery at the top of the page you will find current photos of the actor.
