On Tuesday, the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of PZU appointed Andrzej Klesyk, former president of the insurer, to the company's supervisory board.
Klesyk was nominated to the supervisory board by OFE Nationale-Nederlanden.
The extraordinary general meeting of PZU shareholders began on January 10 this year. and announced a break until January 21. Before the break was announced, the shareholders dismissed Wojciech Olejniczak from the supervisory board at the request of the State Treasury.

Andrzej Klesyk – who is he?
Andrzej Klesyk was the president of PZU in 2007-2015, he resigned on December 8, 2015 after taking power by PIS. “It is the right of the owner to select the persons designated to manage the company. Respecting this right, at the request of the Minister of the Treasury, representing the largest shareholder, I resigned from the position of President of the Management Board of Powszechny ZakÅ‚ad UbezpieczeÅ„ SA,” Klesyk emphasized in a statement at the time.
During his presidency in 2009, the conflict between the Ministry of the Treasury and Eureko regarding the privatization of PZU was ended, thanks to which the State Treasury avoided the threat of paying compensation worth billions, and PZU had an open path to a public offering. In May 2010, PZU shares debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Since 2020, Klesyk has been a managing partner at Cornestone Partners, where he is responsible for several portfolio companies.
