In an interview with journalists, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin spoke about the dismissal of Anna Kornecka from the position of Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Development, Labor and Technology by the prime minister and the future of the Agreement in the United Right. – The United Right is a great value and in my opinion it would be worth continuing this project until the end of the term of office, but not at all costs – he said. He added that he would “continue to cooperate with Minister Kornecka”.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki decided to dismiss Anna Kornecka from the position of Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Development, Labor and Technology, government spokesman Piotr Mueller said on Wednesday. Earlier, he referred to the statement by Kornecka, who criticized the tax solutions proposed in the Polish Lada on TVN24 the day before. As the deputy minister said, the Agreement “very clearly sets the limits and opposes such a sharp increase in taxes”.
Anna Kornecka reacted to her resignation on Twitter. “There is no consent to drastically increasing taxes and tributes for them. I do not regret paying for it by resignation” – she wrote. She also spoke about her appeal in an interview with the TVN24 reporter.
Gowin: It would be worth continuing the United Right project
On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin, the leader of the Agreement party to which Kornecka belongs, was asked by journalists whether the ruling coalition would continue due to this situation. – We will discuss what will happen next with the participation of the Agreement in the United Right, on Saturday. The party’s management will make a decision, he said.
He also said that “The United Right is a great value and in my opinion it would be worth continuing this project until the end of the term of office, but not at all costs.” – Certainly not at the price of a radical increase in taxes, not only for entrepreneurs, but in general for the middle class – he added.
Covenant Leader: I will continue my cooperation with Anna Kornecka
Gowin also pointed out that “the subject of the dispute is not personnel issues, it is not this or another position”. – This subject is the tax system and whether taxes for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises should be increased dramatically. The agreement and I myself are against it – said the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Covenant leader also admitted that he would “continue cooperation with Minister Kornecka”. – In what formula, you will find out soon about it – he added.
Terlecki about Gowin: Where would he go? To PSL? Deputy Prime Minister: I am not going to comment
Gowin was also asked to comment on the words of the deputy speaker of the Sejm, Ryszard Terlecki, head of the PiS parliamentary club, who said that he did not expect Gowin to leave the coalition. – Where would he go? To PSL? Terlecki asked.
– Marshal Terlecki pronounces various judgments which I am not going to comment on – commented the Deputy Prime Minister.
